At Alan David, every custom garment we produce is backed by four generations of expertise in measuring, pattern making and tailoring. Owner Alan David Horowitz grew up in the clothing business. His grandfather, Moe Ginsburg, was a much-loved fixture on the New York retail scene for decades, and Alan worked summers and winter breaks at his grandfather's store.

Creating the finest mens custom suits held great allure for Alan from his earliest experience in the business. After attending college he worked as an accountant for Deloitte & Touche for two years before returning to his roots in the family business for good in 1992.

Today all Alan David Custom garments are meticulously hand sewn in our family owned New York City workshop. Nothing is outsourced or produced overseas. This allows us make sure that every garment is being produced to the highest possible standard. We do not manufacture ready-to-wear or made-to measure garments; on the contrary, our process begins with a carefully drafted, individual pattern created for each client.
