Alex for Max says...

I am a parent of a Kindergarten student at PS 84 in Williamsburg. Last year, my son was a Pre-Kindergarten student at the school, so I have two years of experience at the school. While skeptical at first, I have been very impressed with the teachers and program there. The teachers are very experienced, nurturing and caring, especially when educating or modifying behavior. In fact, I have implemented some of their strategies in my own home with amazing success.

The students are eager to learn and participate, which undoubtedly influences my child's willingness to do the same. Many of the students in my son's Kindergarten class are able to read and write on their own, which are skills I did not learn until 1st grade. The kindergarten class has daily homework, which can take from 5-20 minutes, but it is not graded, only corrected. At first, the work seemed a little overwhelming for a kindergartner, but this feeling passed as my child easily accomplished the lessons learned during the day and was proud that he was able to read and write.

Overall, I am very happy that I decided to send my child to PS 84.
