My daughter is in first grade at PS 84 and is thriving academically and emotionally. In addition to becoming bilingual in Spanish, she's doing extremely well in the Science program which includes early morning enrichment classes three times per week before school and Science class during regular school hours all taught by a specialized Science teacher . The school balances progressive curriculum (Visual Thinking Strategies, Marquis Studio Performing Arts studies, Balanced Literacy) that give children a real voice alongside traditional academics. The Principal is very involved with the students and encourages parents to truly participate in the school. There is extensive professional development for the many amazing and experienced teachers there who are deeply committed to the kids and the community. Our whole family is thrilled with PS 84.
