Finally, what this community has waited so long for and fought hard for has come true! PS84 is an extraordinary example of what the collective force of impassioned and highly motivated parents, teachers and administrators can achieve together. This school is alive with creative ideas and new initiatives, all building on the foundation of a very diverse, incredibly artistic and engaged community. For almost 10 years I had to drive my older kids across the bridge every morning to a wonderful downtown Manhattan school, in order to get the kind of rich, nurturing and individualized education I wanted for them. Now my youngest child is in Pre-K at PS84 and I can actually say it is the best of all the Pre-Ks any of my children ever attended! Her head-teacher is a true expert in early childhood learning with the ability to excite children’s minds with knowledge and intellectual discoveries while creating a serene, warm and mutually respectful environment. It’s astounding! And the best of it all is the beauty and genius of the Williamsburg community. We love our village school!
