Tiffany Kovar says...

I have a buyer beware situation that needs to be shared. I'm going to attempt to keep this as brief as possible, but there were a lot of red flags that came to light, too many to even list here.
Jessica Witcraft of Heelersintexas.com has pictures of beautiful pups on her website, but despite numerous requests for additional photos or videos of puppy she never sent us any. Her website touted superior bloodlines, but when asked for puppy health screening and dam/sire health and genetics she stated that she does not take puppies to the vet and only tests the parents/grandparents of puppies for a "things like PRCD" and did not include any information about the dam/sire.
I asked for a copy of the puppy contract to review and immediately noted there was NO branding on the contract and the email/phone number listed on the contract is entirely different than the one listed on the website. The contract had a spot for your DL# and SS# even noting underneath that it might seem extreme, but that they take take this very serious and do this to prevent puppies from ending up in the wrong hands. IMHO this is how identity theft happens.
Further research found that she used to operate under the brand name of Burnt Kerosene and has a BBB complaint listed under Merica Heeler.
Taking all this information, I informed her that I did not feel comfortable going forward with the purchase of a puppy from her and as we had given her a deposit only a few days prior I felt it was reasonable to request a refund. She could provide a refund or I could take my gathered information to social media, she immediately responded that I was a criminal and attempting to commit extortion. She went on to repeatedly call me a criminal, questioned my intelligence, said she filed a police report on me and contacted my spouse's and my jobs.
I have printouts and screenshots of all the interactions and information found.
